BREAKING: Brazil football legend Carlos Alberto dies

Carlos Alberto, the captain of the Brazilian team that won the 1970 World Cup in Mexico is dead.

The player who was regarded as one of the best defenders of all time was said to have collapsed and died following a het attack.

In the final of the 1970 World Cup, Alberto’s goal against Italy is regarded as one of the best goals in the World Cup as he rounded off a sublime team move.

The former Santos and Fluminense player featured 53 times for the Brazilian national team and won titles with different local clubs.
He made over 400 professional club appearances.

Alberto was named in the world team of the 20th Century in 1998 and the Fifa 100 for the greatest living players in 2004.
