Some fans of Nigerian entertainers 2Face Idibia, Wizkid and Omawumi are really upset with the trio and other acts for performing at the Nigerian Centenary celebrations which took place on Thursday 27th February at Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The trio and other stars including IK Osakioduwa and Funke Akindele who were the Masters of Ceremony incurred the wrath of some Nigerian youths for participating in a show they termed as uncalled for and a wanton waste of money, and coming shortly after more than 50 students of the Federal Government College, Yobe St ate, were slaughtered by Islamic militant sect, Boko Haram.

The fans are not happy that someone like 2Face who recently berated the country's politicians in an interview with a foreign radio station » could also identify with the same politicians because of money.

The event which is in celebration of Nigeria’s 100 years of existence has drawn the flak of many who feel that hosting the show with so much pomp and pageantry at a time the nation should be mourning the death of innocent children is uncalled for.

Though many of their fans are of the view that it is the only way they could participate in the sharing of the national cake, others still think they have betrayed a majority of Nigerian youths who are feeling the brunt of the present government misdemeanors.

South Africans deporting Nigerians for flimsy excuses

For some time now the South African immigration have been deporting Nigerians for the flimsiest reasons. Starting from their airport, they deport you for allegedly carrying what they call 'fake' yellow card. Then sometimes they raid local hotels and even pick Nigerians up while they are going about their business. Today Friday Feb. 28th they deported eleven Nigerians for hotel reservation reasons. The ones staying at apartments too were deported because according to South African immigration, their names didn't appear on the apartment lease while clearly they were just guests.

What is going on? Our government needs to do something about this ASAP. This is not cool!

Double Wahala Emeka Ike In More Trouble Over Debt

It seems the many troubles of Nollywood star actor, Emeka Ike, are far from over as he is now the subject of another litigation, this time by his landlord, over a debt of 8.5 million Naira he allegedly is owing.

After he managed to get his school reopened after it was shut down by a court a few weeks ago, his landlord whose name was given as Samuel Akintan, is threatening fire and brimstone, vowing to throw Emeka  and his family out of his Magodo GRA, Lagos State, twin- duplex if he fails to pay up the debt which has been pending since 2012.

The 87-year-old Mr. Akintan is alleging that Emeka has refused to vacate his property in spite of many attempts to eject him from the twin-duplex since his lease expired in 2012.

The actor turned educationist, is also being accused of issuing a dud cheque of N1.5 million to the old man, and subsequently lying to the Magodo police to forcefully take back control of the property after it was initially locked up by the Commissioner of Police’s office.

"When I wanted to take the matter to court, Emeka wrote a letter pleading with me.

“I have sympathy for Emeka, but unfortunately, he has no sympathy for himself. I never knew this man from Adam. My children said they know him, that he’s an actor. That’s how I fell into his hands."

A week after Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was secretly filmed saying he thinks Samuel Eto'o is older than his age, his ex Anna Barranca has spoken out saying Eto'o is way older than 32.

"The problem with Chelsea is I lack a scorer. I have Eto’o but he is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?’ Mourinho said in a private conversation but it was secretly recorded and published on a sports website. It has since been taken down.

Now Eto'o's former lover, Anna Barranca, who is 43years old and has an 11year old daughter, Annie, with the footballer said he's not 35, but 39 going on 40.

The Italian hairdresser (pictured above with her daughter) told The Sun UK today "I think Samuel is not 35 he is more 39. Samuel was born in 1974 and so that makes him 39 now.' She claims she was informed of Eto'o's true age when they were dating by a friend who grew up with Eto'o in Cameroon.

SA man launches contest for virgins, to reward them with R100,000

29 year old Rabelani Ramali (pictured right), a community worker from rural Limpopo province in South African has launched a contest in the country where girls who are virgins at 35 and below would be rewarded with R100,000 or less plus medals; gold, silver or bronze, depending on their ages Rabelani who has fathered five children by four women out of wedlock, says he decided to come up with this idea to help checkmate the rate of unwanted pregnancies and HIV cases amongst south African women. He said his NGO, SA Virgin Girls Awards, which was registered in November 2013, is set to take on this task as he has recruited 31 volunteer workers who would help disburse forms among women in schools, market, churches and other places. Rabelani said he has contacted local medical doctors who have agreed to help him carry out the virginity test on the girls who would come forward to get tested.

R100,000 would be given to virgins between the ages of 31 and 35, R50,000 for those aged 26 to 30 and R25000 for those aged 21 to 25. He expects donors to make the prize money available to the winning contestants.

Nigerian man who stabbed his wife while she slept jailed for 12 years

A Nigerian businessman has been jailed for 12 years after he was found guilty of stabbing his wife as she slept in their home. Oluwabusayo Abegunde, 38, (pictured below this post) stabbed his wife repeatedly with a kitchen knife after he went through her phone and discovered she was seeing someone else.

Esther Abegunde, 33, told her husband of ten years that their marriage was over and moved into a spare room on February 16th 2013. Abegunde attacked her with the knife after he discovered why she wanted to leave him. Oluwabusayo stabbed Esther in the chest, arm, and punctured her left lung, according to the Manchester Evening News. Continue...

As Esther began to bleed to death Abegunde agreed to call an ambulance after making her promise she would tell police she had caused the wounds herself. To make it believable, he cut himself with the knife to make it look like he had also been attacked before emergency services arrived.

Esther survived the brutal attack and later told the police the truth. Abegunde, who has businesses in Nigeria and was a respected member of Manchester’s Nigerian community was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

He was found not guilty of attempted murder at an earlier trial but the jury at Manchester crown court found him guilty of grievous bodily harm this week and he was jailed for 12 years.

Her name is Gabriella. Says she's an aspiring Victoria Secret model and actress. Not sure where she's from though. Gabriella, via her instagram account @bambiiiii_ shared her recent sad experience of domestic violence from her boyfriend of eight months. She was badly beaten, thrown from a moving vehicle and dragged. She shared this photo of her injury above on her instagram page and wrote:

"This might be a little graphic but I just want to let everyone know that I am okay. I am a survivor of domestic violence with a boy I dated for 8 months. I really thought everything was fine but he constantly questioned me about cheating and flirting. Nonsense. I never looked at someone the way he looked at me. Thought I loved this boy. How can someone that 'loves' me do this to me? The scars on my chest are way worse and extend down to my right nipple, completely scarred. The skin on my shoulder has been completely skinned. And I have bruising on my rib cage, neck, and my muscles. I was kicked out of a moving vehicle, then beaten and dragged, as I blacked out and was left lying there in my own puddle of blood. Doctors said I could have died if not made it when I did. I am so blessed and beyond lucky to be alive and have so much support from friends, family, and strangers. As I try to recover I ask to please keep me in your prayers. I have to wear a neck brace for 3-4 weeks, an arm cast and I can barely walk for now. Thank you for all the love. Wife killer, Arowolo, gets death sentence

A Lagos High Court in Ikeja has sentenced to death Akolade Arowolo for the murder of his banker wife, Titilayo, who he repeatedly stabbed to death with a knife at their residence in Isolo, Lagos, on June 24, 2011.

Justice Lateefat Okunnu, in her judgment on Friday, held that even though there was no eyewitness to the incident, the circumstantial evidence adduced

Lamido crossed the line between keeping to his brief as CBN Governor and openly canvassing to be the next Emir of Kano or currying favours by donating billions to some institutions in those areas which would aid his royal ambitions.

For the record, I am as peeved as many Nigerians about the shortcomings of the Jonathan Administration in many areas. I also join millions of people in asking for full accountability of the NNPC ‘missing $20 billion’. But I also know a lot about heirachical politics and administration. The Guy who employs you is your f***king Boss! You disagree with him in private. You don’t come out all prima donna to undermine his authority because you have an opposition Press on your side and a tribal mindset of supporters egging you on. Damn it! I would show you who the boss is, if it was me.

And you know why Jonathan’s payback is a bitch to Sanusi? Lamido will spend the next few months trying to clear his name over the ‘financial recklessness’ he has been accused of. His credentials have been officially stained. Yes, he would scream that Jonathan is corrupt too but Nigerians have heard that before. Nothing new. What is novel would be the documents which will fly out soon from the Government exposing Sanusi’s hidden deals. That is how politics works.

And let us be clear about this; there is nothing like clean politics. When you are up there, you always fight for your survival. Even those of you working in offices and corporations know how it works.

University of Ibadan student Taiwo Shittu raped & killed in her home

27 year old Taiwo Omolara Shittu (pictured below), a 500l student of the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, University of Ibadan, was attacked and killed on the 19th of February at her sister's home at Opeyemi street, Gbagi in Ibadan.

Her sister, who she lived with, returned home from work around 5:30pm on Wednesday to find Taiwo in the pool of her own blood, her pants down to her ankle, and a machete stained with blood on the bed. Taiwo had been attacked with the machete as there was an opening on her head.

A man who cuts grass for her sister has been arrested and is currently being held at Alakia Adenubi police station in Ibadan. The man, said to be in his early 30s, has denied any involvement in the murder but it was the machete he uses to cut grass that was found in the crime scene.

The case has been transferred to the State CID. As soon as I get more updates from late Taiwo's family, I will update you guys. So sad. May her soul rest in peace..amen.

Jonathan suspends Sanusi as CBN Governor

Reuben Abati, the spokesperson for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has announced that the commander-in-chief has suspended CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

Lamido Sanusi is to effectively hand over power to senior Deputy Governor of CBN Dr Sarah Alade. She will serve as Acting Governor until all on-going investigations is concluded.

Read the official statement; “Having taken special notice of reports of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and other investigating bodies, which indicate clearly that Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s tenure has been characterized by various acts of financial recklessness and misconduct which are inconsistent with the administration’s vision of a Central Bank propelled by the core values of focused economic management, prudence, transparency and financial discipline;

Being also deeply concerned about far-reaching irregularities under Mallam Sanusi’s watch which have distracted the Central Bank away from the pursuit and achievement of its statutory mandate; and

Being determined to urgently re-position the Central Bank of Nigeria for greater efficiency, respect for due process and accountability, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has ordered the immediate suspension of Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi from the Office of Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The President expects that as Acting Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Alade will focus on the core mandate of the Bank and conduct its affairs with greater professionalism, prudence and propriety to restore domestic and international confidence in the country’s apex bank.

The Federal Government of Nigeria reassures all stakeholders in Nigeria’s financial and monetary system that this decision has been taken in absolute good faith, in the overall interest of the Nigerian economy and in accordance with our laws and due process.”

Woman gives birth to stone in Yola

Amina Bello, 25-year old woman in Yolde Pate in Yola South LGA of Adamawa State, on Tuesday, delivered a sizable stone. Bello narrated her story at the opening ceremony of Vesico vaginal fistula (VVF) free medical treatment in Yola Specialists Hospital. Bello, who is also a VVF patient, told the gathering that after four years pregnancy, she finally delivered a sizable stone last year.

"I was holding a pregnancy for the duration of four years, which I bitterly suffered because of the heavy weight of what is contained in the stomach,” she said. “It was last year around June, I started feeling labour and I was in that condition for three days and finally I delivered a stone.”

She said that it was after the delivery she now discovered that she was affected with VVF. Responding, Dr Sunday Lengmang, Director VVF Centre, Jos, confirmed that giving birth to a stone or any object was possible.

Lengmang was in Yola to attain to the VVF patients for the duration of one week . “Stones and other solid objects can form in a human body in different cases,” he said. “Stones can form in a gall bladder, urinary bladder and other several parts of urinary tracks.”

The medical expert explained that why VVF patients were prone to giving birth to stones or any solid object was because they drink less water to reduce urine leakage.

He said as a result of taking less water their urine become concentrated.

“Inside urine, there is salt, sodium and chlorine, and when the urine becomes concentrated, the salt becomes crystallised and finally forms itself and later ends up as stone,” he said. Lengmang confirmed that three VVF patients had stones in their placentas and they would undergo surgery. He said the size of the stones uncovered from the three women was six by seven and three by four centimetres.

Lengmang advised VVF patients to drink more water instead of taking less to prevent them from risk of having stones

Wife logs on to FB to discover her husband had married another woman

A bigamist was caught by his wife after she saw a photograph of him grinning with his new Gambian teenage bride on Facebook.

Nicolette Smith was further devastated when she noticed Stephen Smith, 52, had married Awa Jobarteh, 19, (pictured above) at the same African register office they tied the knot at 7 years earlier.

Nicolette (pictured above right) met her husband in 2001, after his first divorce, but has been left in financial ruin after their marriage breakdown.

She was declared bankrupt when Smith failed to pay the mortgage and is still waiting for her husband to sign divorce papers, Teesside Crown Court was told.

The 52-year-old was prosecuted for bigamy after he admitted 'hastily' rushing down the aisle with his third wife because he was in love.

The court heard that the day before the wedding Smith signed a petition for divorce from his second wife, which carried a signature purporting to be by Nicolette - but it was faked. Nicolette admitted she was disappointe d that he was given a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years with 150 hours' unpaid work.

'I feel as though he's got away with this and has been portrayed as some kind of victim himself after all that he's put me through. He knew if he responded to my divorce petition, he'd give away where he'd been hiding,' she said.

Discussing the way he was dumped by his new bride she told The Sun: 'She looked so young in the pictures and he looked a little pathetic. I don't know what else he could have expected'.

Smith claimed he was a wronged victim, duped and abandoned by his latest spouse after he met her in Gambia, married her on November 7, 2012 and brought her to the UK.

Smith married his second wife in December 2005. The marriage broke down two years later. He went missing and her solicitors received no reply in efforts to start divorce proceedings. She then reported him to the police when she found out that he'd remarried.

Smith admitted a charge of bigamy, his first crime but said he had thought he was divorced and that his divorce was 'automatic'.

Anti-gay law: Gay Nigerians flood Netherlands embassy seeking asylum

na wah oh, some Nigerians like to take advantage sha! Lol. The Embassy of the Netherlands in Nigeria has confirmed that it has received some applications for asylum by some Nigerians who fear persecution following the recent signing into law the anti-gay bill by President Jonathan, Thisday reports.

Netherlands is a gay-friendly country. The embassy sent an email to Thisday some days ago saying that despite receiving these applications, it was neither involved in processing any application for asylum seekers nor does it have the power to grant asylum to applicants.

"The embassy has received a small number of applications for asylum by Nigerians. It is not possible to apply for asylum at the embassy. We inform the applicants likewise but we do not register the number of applications made. At this stage, it is not possible to make predictions. That would be speculation. However, when people become increasingly aware that it is not possible to apply for asylum at the embassy, one could expect a decrease. The embassy is not involved in the asylum process, neither in the application nor in the determination of the authenticity of claims.”

Justin Bieber on US Homeland Security watch list, to be searched every time he enters the US

Canadian singer Justin Bieber's days of breezing in and out of the U.S. are over after he was added on US Homeland Security watch list for his two ongoing criminal cases. This means he will searched indefinitely by U.S Customs every time he enters the states, TMZ reports.

When Justin flew into a New Jersey airport from Canada last Friday ... U.S. Customs searched his plane and then grilled him for hours, before letting him leave. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Custom's flagged Bieber because he's on a Homeland Security watch list

We're told Bieber is subject to the exact same treatment every time he leaves and then re-enters the U.S. -- a thorough search and then exhaustive questioning.

It's very hard to get off the watch list once you're on it. You can appeal to Homeland Security but the agency has broad discretion. What's more ... if Bieber is found guilty or pleads no contest to any criminal charge, it will be extremely difficult for him to go under the radar again.

As for whether that will cramp his style ... Bieber sources say he just doesn't care. As one person put it, "He's gonna do what he wants to do."

Justin Bieber is not only out of control ... he's hard-core stupid. He knew last week --before he took off for New Jersey -- his plane would get searched by U.S. Customs yet he and his friends still hotboxed on the private jet.

TMZ has confirmed .... the pilot radioed in the air Justin and his gang were smoking weed on the plane and the flight attendant couldn't get them to stop. The pilot complained the smoke in the cabin was thick. NBC News says the pilot actually had to don a gas mask because it was so bad.

Now here's what's incredible ... TMZ has previously reported Justin is on a Homeland Security watch list because of 2 pending criminal cases.

Multiple sources connected with Bieber tell TMZ ... Justin's people called federal officials before the plane took off and they were informed Justin was on the list. Justin's people told him before he got on the jet that he would be searched in New Jersey and interrogated, yet Bieber STILL smoked up the aircraft.

We're also told Bieber and his buds were abusive to the flight attendant because she ordered them to stop smoking ... in vain.

And to add icing to the cake ... Bieber's father was on the plane.

By the time the plane landed the weed was gone, but drug-sniffing dogs detected trace amounts.

One person who was on the plane 3 hours after it landed says it continued to reek of marijuana.
